Tumbler Wrap Size Chart for 18 Sublimation Blanks
Every row is calculated by the same frustum code that runs the tapered tumbler wrap template generator, from one shared preset list, so the numbers here and in the tool are identical. Switch units, then open any row to get its 1:1 SVG and test-fit PDF.
Tapered wrap dimensions are calculated from exact conical frustum geometry. Because blank tumblers vary by manufacturer batch, always print the free 1:1 paper test-fit strip and verify the 1-inch / 10-mm ruler before pressing sublimation transfers.

An angle of 0.00° means a straight body and a rectangular wrap. Anything above zero needs the curved template; the larger the angle, the more a rectangle would wrinkle. Mugs are listed without the handle area, which is why their widths are shorter than the rim circumference.
What r1, r2, the angle, chord and sagitta mean
The outer radius r1 runs from the apex to the rim and r2 from the apex to the base; their difference is always the slant height. The angle θ says how much of a full circle the rim arc covers. Chord and sagitta describe the curve as a straight width and a bulge height, useful for checking a printout with a ruler.
Libbey glass can wrap size and other can-style blanks
Libbey-style glass cans have a straight body between a rounded shoulder and base, so the print band is a rectangle. The 16 oz preset gives 9.39 × 5.12 in and the taller 20 oz glass can 9.52 × 5.59 in. Keep designs clear of the shoulder: the paper cannot follow the curve and the transfer ghosts there.
If your can tapers slightly, measure the circumference just below the shoulder and just above the base. A difference over about 1 mm justifies a curved template; under that, a rectangle with 3 mm overlap is fine and easier to align with the printed seam.
30 oz tapered tumbler template versus the 30 oz skinny
Two very different blanks share the 30 oz label. The 30 oz modern curve taper narrows from 100 to 73 mm, so its template is a 21.01° sector measuring 12.50 × 9.68 in. The 30 oz skinny straight is a 10.01 × 9.40 in rectangle. Both need Tabloid paper for a one-piece print, or two Letter tiles.
Ask buyers for the rim and base circumference rather than the ounces, and send them to the guide on how to measure a tapered tumbler if they are unsure. Two tape readings settle which template they need.
Published press starting points
| Blank | Method | Starting point | Source |
|---|---|---|---|
| 20 oz stainless skinny tumbler | Tumbler press | 350–380 °F, 45 s per side, rotate and repeat until the whole wrap has been pressed | The Stainless Depot, “How to sublimate a 20 oz tumbler in a tumbler press” |
| 20 oz stainless skinny tumbler | Convection / sublimation oven with shrink wrap | 375–400 °F for about 5–7 minutes | The Stainless Depot, “How to sublimate a 20 oz tumbler in a sublimation oven” |
| 12 oz straight sippy cup | Tumbler press | 355 °F for 60 s, turn 180°, press another 60 s | MakerFlo 12 oz Sippy Cup product page |
| 11–16 oz straight-wall ceramic mug, 82–86 mm across | Cricut Mug Press | Automatic: the press sets time and temperature; straight walls only, 3.2–3.4 in diameter | Cricut Mug Press product page |
| 12 oz and 17 oz conical latte mugs | Oven with shrink wrap, or a conical mug element | Not compatible with Cricut Mug Press (tapered wall). Follow the mug supplier’s oven card | Cricut Mug Press compatibility (straight wall only) |
These are the settings each source publishes for its own blanks, collected in one place. Coatings, papers and presses differ, so follow the manufacturer's card for your blank and run one test piece per new batch. Temperatures here are in Fahrenheit as published; 375 °F is about 190 °C.
Size chart questions
Why does the chart give slant height instead of the cup height?
The template unrolls along the wall, so its depth is the distance measured down the side, not straight up. On a gently tapered skinny the two differ by a fraction of a millimetre, but on a latte mug they can differ by several. The generator converts a vertical height for you if that is what you measured.
Are these sizes official manufacturer numbers?
They are the printable bands of common blanks, built from order specifications and published supplier listings and noted per preset in the source data. Factories change molds and batches vary by a millimetre or two, so treat each row as a starting point and confirm with a paper test fit before pressing.
What is the Libbey glass can wrap size?
For the 16 oz glass can preset, 75 mm across with a 130 mm printable body and 3 mm overlap, the wrap is 9.39 × 5.12 in, or 2818 × 1535 px at 300 DPI. It is a straight rectangle because the body does not taper; only the shoulder and base curve, and those stay unprinted.
Why does the 40 oz row show two values in every cell?
A 40 oz handle tumbler prints as two pieces, an upper band with a handle cutout and a lower taper. Each cell lists the upper zone first and the lower zone second, separated by a slash. Open the row in the generator to see both templates and the cup together.
